We are delighted to announce that we have been granted a Section 333 Exemption and a Certificate of Authorization (COA) for commercial UAS operation here in the United States.
The Section 333 Exemption process provides operators safe and legal entry into the National Airspace. The Certificate of Authorization is an authorization issued by the Air Traffic Organization to a public operator for a specific UA activity. Our particular exemption allows us to service a variety of applications, including agricultural survey, film production, property survey, aerial photography, pipeline survey, and damage survey and monitoring in the event of a natural disaster.
The FAA has now granted 128 petitions since the petition process opened in September.
We are excited to be a part of the forefront of UAS implementation in the States. Our team looks forward to the ownership of this new responsibility, and safely executing UAS operations in a way that will benefit our industry as a whole.
This is a huge success for our company, as well as all the people who supported us in this endeavor. Thank you to everyone who played a part in this, and especially those who commented on our petition. We couldn’t have done this without your help!
“The FAA has made some great strides over the past few months. These larger batches of Section 333 Exemptions and COA’s show a move in the right direction, toward a more wide-spread integration of small UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) into the NAS (National Air Space). We’re really excited about the opportunity, and even more excited to be on the cutting edge of this industry.
I’m looking forward to seeing how some of the larger companies in the agricultural and energy sectors utilize new UAS service providers like our company.”
