This Wednesday (November 13th, 2013), Texas Hill Country Wineries (THCW) announced its official partnership with Arch Aerial LLC, a firm that manufactures multi-rotor UAVs and provides services for academic research, agricultural survey, and film production. The partnership aims to raise awareness about the research efforts and fundraising sponsored by THCW, and highlight up-and-coming technologies that viticulturists are using at vineyards in the state of Texas.
Arch Aerial will be presenting a demo of autopilot vineyard survey using conventional and near-infrared imaging at the THCW Grower’s Field Day on November 22nd, 2013 at Bending Branch Winery. The Grower’s Field Day is an event that provides education for existing, new and future growers in Texas. The proceeds generated at this event and others by THCW will benefit the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Lab directly for continued research. You can find more information about the event here.
